Bigfoot 911 Call

This 911 call took place in the mid-1990's on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington State..The guy who made the called never mentioned a "Bigfoot" but said it was a Really big Guy.. As you may hear, this guy sounded terrified and was unsure how to describe what he was seeing..Also you can hear the operator typing in the background..

Note: Even though it's the "Messing with sasquatch" commercial Pic on the video, it is a real Call..

Helen's Bridge

Here's the bridge that kriste and I took..

This is the top of the bridge..

This is how the story goes..
When the Zealandia Castle caught fire in the late 1900's, a woman named Helen lost her only child, a daughter, in the fire. Helen was so upset by the loss that she hung herself from the bridge right down the road from the castle.. That's how Helen's Bridge got started.. It's located on Beaucatcher Mountain. There has been much paranormal activity associated with the bridge, apparitions, orbs, etc. Helen is supposed to wander the mountain in a long gown, asking those she meets if they have seen her daughter.

The Events of Brown Mountain (Report)

My adventures with the Brown Mountain lights started in the Fall of 1987. A friend of mine told me you could see them more clearly and with less company from the top of Table Rock. So that is where we headed--we would climb out on the Gorge side and look toward the Brown Mountain Range long after sunset.
The first time I saw them it was a cool fall night around 50 degrees F. We watched about 5 lights dance all over the Brown Mountain Range traveling at speeds impossible for a car to travel. We saw lights like this several times where they would just appear and "dance around" for about 15 minutes then, just fade out.
But one evening the following year in 1988 it was fairly cold up there. My best friend and my then five-year-old daughter went with me to the overlook on Hwy 181. It was crowded there and we couldn't see anything after about an hour. So we and a young couple decided to drive up to Table Rock.
When we got up there everything was SO quiet. The mountains stretched out below us and we became very much at peace. (No, no one was smoking anything or doing any drugs.) It was just breathtakingly beautiful. After about another hour we still hadn't seen anything. My daughter was snuggled up to me between my legs trying to stay warm. My friend, Leigh and I were sitting beside each other. The other couple was sitting in front of us, over to my left sort of below us on another rock. I leaned back and we started looking at and pointing out constellations. Leigh asked me about the Big Dipper. Just as I pointed out the handle and the North Star, what appeared to be a very bright light "fell" out of the dipper, came down and went to the top of the Brown mountain range and then split into two lights which then raced to either end of the mountain and danced and swirled around, splitting into more lights. We were dumbfounded. I finally leaned over to Leigh and asked her if she saw what I saw and she just nodded her head. The other couple was sitting there with their mouths dropped open. When the lights split into several more, I can't tell you how many, we all started talking at once. It was quite exciting. Even my daughter was aware that something pretty magnificent had just taken place. We watched until the lights faded out about 20 minutes later. We waited about another 30 minutes, but saw nothing and as it was getting quite late, we decided to leave.
On the way down the mountain, through the trees, we saw what appeared to be a house on fire. As we came around a curve in that dirt road, we realized it was the trees on fire. I was driving and just gunned the car through the burning area. We live in Gastonia so the drive home was still long and it took me hours to calm down. It was quite an exciting night.
My family and I have been back up there several more times and have seen the lights again, but have yet to see anything like that one night in 1988. It was just phenomenal.

The Kingdom of the Whispering Wind

Check out ths report..This happened in Henderson County NC in the mid 80's..

This is an old story that occurred before I was born. It's a story my uncle told me for many years and I felt I should share it.

It was in the late Fall/early Winter of either 1984 or 1985. My uncle had been hunting and it was getting late, but he had his flashlight and his gun. He was on his way home calling the dogs as he went when he noticed the complete quietness that was usually broken by many of the woods various animals. At the moment all he heard was the noise from his beagles. He came upon a huge, completely open clearing in the woods where there were suddenly sounds coming from all around like whispers and it was if the wind was blowing but the trees remained still.

A similiar thing happened to my dad when he was out one night with friends. They came to the same spot my uncle came across from the above report and started to drive the car through. The car stopped, the lights went dead(no lights worked at all) and then the sounds came. After finally getting the car started they turned around and drove back down the trail. When they reached the end of the trail there was a tree about 12" in diameter laying across the road and they could still hear the strange sounds coming from every direction.

Various hunters have had the same experience and some refer to it as "The Kingdom of the Whispering Wind". Many believe there is an old burial ground on the edge of that field.
Years ago, we had an old cow who would do anything to avoid those woods and that particular open spot in the field.

Researching near the Carter Farm

Over the weekend, Kristie and I made our way down to the Carter farm. If you haven't read the post about the Carter farm, you can read it here: The Carter Farm Story

When we got to the town of Madisonville Tennessee about 5 pm saturday evening, we decided to go ahead and look for the farm and look at the surrounding areas while we still had a little daylight..We finally found the place..It seemed like no one lived there..The landscape is mostly farm land and rolling hills.. The pics below will give you an idea what the area looks like..

Here's the farm house itself.. This is supposebly where fox (Bigfoot) came to the door and asked for garlic..

Here's more of the property..

Here's a strip of woods along with a field around the backside of the sheds and house..

This is right up the road from the Carter farm..A field with woods around it..

These distance mountains is about 3 miles from the carter farm..

Here they go again..Mountains joined by farmland..

Although it seems like the bigfoot things died down, kristie and I wanted to test out our luck with some bait..

Around midnight, we hung up some bait right across the nearby mountains just to see what happens.. Also we left a recording device hidden near the bait..Since they were calling for a little snow that night, we had to wrap up the recorder in plastic.. We banged on a wooden fence post a few times to get the ball start rolling..It was really dark and only about 2-3 houses on this backroad..This area is about 3 miles from the Carter farm..
When we checked the next morning, the bait was still hanging.. Although i expected this, i just wanted the satifaction knowing that our trip down here would be a memorable one and who knows, strange things do happens..

Old Fort Bigfoot

My friend and I checked out this report (below).. We met the lady and her kids.. We set up a bait deep in the woods outside of her property to see if we could get some footpriints.. We didn't get anything but hopefully we'll get another chance to follow up on this.. Btw- I'll post some pics of our investigation soon..

I live in Old Fort, North Carolina. It is an extremely small town with a population of about 800. About a year ago I bought a new house. It's in the woods well away from town ( not that 800 people is much of a town )!!!!!!!! Right after I moved in I started hearing strange sounds at night. There is "gibberish" that I can't really understand. It kind of sounds like talking but I can never make out any words. I have heard some screams that are so blood crudling that I've actually went into the woods with a flashlight to see if a woman was hurt. My children often play outside until 9 or 9:30 pm ( if it's not a school night!! ) and they have repeatedly seen something that they call " The Brown Man ". They say he is bigger than a man and he is brown in color and all he does is stand at the edge of my front yard in the treeline and watches them play. They are not afraid because he has never ventured into the yard and if they try to approach him he runs away. Even though I have heard the strange sounds I'd never seen anything until last September. It was about 11 pm and I had to go to the pumphouse to get my toolbox. The pumphouse is not actually in my yard it is behind the treeline at the back of my house. The kids were playing a cd really loud and they were dancing around the house ( three kids can make alot of noise !!!!). I stepped out the front door and walked around the corner of the house and there he was. BF was standing not 5 feet from my sliding glass door. He was standing in the shadows looking in the door like he was totally fascinated with what my children were doing. I was so shocked that I just stopped and stared. He saw me at the same time I saw him. He was about 15 feet from me. There was such a shocked expression on his face that I now think it's funny but then I was kinda shook up. He turned and ran into the woods. I've got no real idea how tall he was. My brother is 6 foot 4 inches tall and BF was alot taller than that. I would guess at least 7 feet. He is brown in color ( 'bout like a Hershey bar.) I have searched the woods repeatedly and I've never found a footprint but that's not surprising considering the ground cover, leaves, rocks, etc. I've never been "into" BF until that night but I now own a night vision device and I sometimes sit in the backyard after the kids are asleep and just try to see him again. I have seen him at a distance. I just hope to get a photo one day.

What is Bigfoot?

Here is a well explained article by Melanie Marten

Elusive Primate-Most people think they are a rare and elusive species of large primate. This hypothesis is backed up by the appearance and behaviors of most bigfoot sighting reports. The only thing that does not fit with this idea is the seemingly high intelligence that the creature appears to exhibit. Bigfoot trackers speak of lean-tos, broken branches marking pathways, and leafy nests that may be akin to what other great apes such as gorillas build.

Alien Being- People who do not subscribe to the normal animal explanation of bigfoot may believe that he is an alien creature either put on earth for a reason, or abandoned or forgotten by a passing spaceship. This is one of the least popular notions, as there is no evidence that bigfoot has knowledge of advanced technology or any specific interest in the cosmos.

Shape Shifter-Perhaps influenced by Native American skinwalker tales, some consider bigfoot to be a shapeshifter. Some report that a bigfoot they observed moving about turned into a rock or stump. Others think that the creature has the ability to become invisible. This is often due to the fact that he can seemingly disappear in the forest quickly and without trouble after being spotted.

Prehistoric Leftover-Other than the unusual primate opinion, the idea that bigfoot is a prehistoric leftover is popular among believers with a more scientific bent. Just as the coelecanth was rediscovered in modern times, some view bigfoot as a prehistoric human, such as Neanderthal, that was somehow stuck in time. They are viewed as communal dwellers living in small, isolated pockets.

Interdimensional Being-Those who subscribe to the theory of multiple dimensions and parallel realities think that bigfoot is a being that can slip between with relative ease. Perhaps they believe that there are other worlds where bigfoot type creatures are the norm. Why they come to this reality and journey through remote forests is not usually explained.

What do you think Bigfoot is?

Knobby..A Community Bigfoot..

The above pic of Capenters Knob Dr and Carpenters Knob mountain (straight ahead) that I took during my visit there.. This road is one area where knobby was seen by locals. The locals also believed Knobby resided on Carpenters Knob mountain.

Here is an interesting article from the late 70's about Knobby..

Article: Knobby: Where is He? What is He?
By Jennie PalmerGastonia Gazette

TOLUCA - From the back roads that wind through the Smokey Mountain foothills and from the cities that lie below, the masses are converging on this usually quiet Cleveland County community that it's fair week. And they're all searching for "Knobby", the mysterious ape- like creature folks around here have reported seeing for almost a month now. Stop at any one of the country stores and many of the homes that dot the hillsides and you'll hear the latest "Knobby" tale. If your face is strange, no one will ask why you've come. Instead, they"ll offer to direct you to Minnie Cook's house or Sally White's for a first-hand account of the sightings. Minnie, an 88-year-old woman who became the first to let her story be known, is so terrified of what may be lurking outside her front door that she won't talk to a visitor unless she's been forewarned of his arrival by her son, Elbert, or daughter-in-law, Ruby. Each time Minnie goes outside the house, Ruby said, she carries a rifle. "People aren't just saying they saw it," Ruby said Thursday afternoon as she sat inside the store she runs with her husband. "They have seen it." The Cooks' store lies in the afternoon shadow of Carpenter's Knob, the foothills hill point just west of Toluca and the landmark from which the creature draws its name. The store and nearby Mountain View Grocery are where area folks gather to swap their "Knobby" stories and where outsiders stop to track down leads to its whereabouts. "Everybody that comes in here talks about it," Ruby said. "A lot of them are scared to death. Me? Well, I'll just tell you I'm not about to go out looking for it." But others are. Throughout the day Thursday a Shelby radio station crew broadcast live from a campground near the base of the knob. The crew, a smattering of newsmen and a host of curious searchers spent the night hopping from spot to spot in hopes of sighting the creature that's causing the stir. Robert Shoup and Butch Craig cut their high school classes to sit all day by a campfire near the top of the knob. "We're just waiting and looking for it," Butch said. And Russell Cook took a day off work to go "Knobby" hunting with Rondal Huffman. "We've been all over these woods looking for signs of it but we haven't seen a thing," Rondal said. Their last trek of the day was through a deep gully that runs behind Sally White's house, the site of one of the most recent "Knobby" reports. Mrs. White claims to have seen the animal three times, the last on Tuesday about 8:30 p.m. "I heard the dog barking and I looked out," she said. "he was barking and jumping up. When he did that I knew there was something outside that was more than another dog." "I looked down the path and I saw it - something long and black coming up through the woods. Its the same thing I've seen twice before, once before Christmas and once right after." That's the best description, Mrs. white says, she can give of "knobby." But others who claim to have seen it wandering along the roadsides, snatching food from a trash dump and making his way through the woods say "Knobby" is about six feet tall, weighs about 200 pounds, has a small head, flat face and dark, hairy body. Speculation about the creature's identity ranges from wandering mountain panther to escaped carnival baboon to misplaced bear to Big Foot, the supposed missing link between man and ape. A state park developer drove from eastern North Carolina to Toluca to check the Big Foot possibility. Two other researchers, working on a project for a Massachusetts university, spent at least one night on Carpenter's Knob checking out their own theories about "Knobby." Area residents say they do not know whether the men have left the area. At least 16 "Knobby" sightings have been reported since late December in the vicinity of Carpenter's Knob. Earlier this week Forest Price of Casar, a community located about 10 miles west of Toluca, reported finding his goat dead of a broken neck and speculated that "Knobby" may have been the killer. His brother said he saw the creature roaming the woods near their homes. An animal den and tracks were found about two miles from the Price houses. Searchers said the tracks were at least as large as a man's hand and similarly shaped with a thumb-like protrusion. But most people, both hunters and wildlife protectors, are turning up no trace of the mysterious creature as they comb spots where sightings have been reported. "Most of this talk is just plain old hearsay," said Clyde Price, whose relatives own a large tract of land near the top of Carpenter's Knob. "When something like this gets started it gets bigger and bigger."

Bigfoot Livng on Tennessee Farm

In the Bigfoot world, this story was BIG a few years ago.. Here goes the orginal email of Janice Carter to respected Bigfoot researcher Mary green:
January 2, 2002

Dear Lady,

I hope this is Mary Green. I am not that good at locating people on this contraption. I am not computer friendly at all. Needless to say I'm not good at typing either. So when you reply to this it will take a while for me to type any reply back. I hunt and peck. Sorry for this, but I am trying to learn as I go. Down to business. I have already submitted a report to either Bfro.net or Gcbro.com one. I do not remember which, but believe it is the first site. My sister submitted a report back in 2000 to one of them and persuaded me to do the same recently. They have not posted it as of tonight. I have, along with my sister, talked to a Mr. Mike Simpson from BFRO so that is where I think I sent my report. He is supposed to come up from AL sometime and get back in touch with us soon on the phone. I think I could use your help also if you can spare the time. I do understand you are a busy person too.

The reason I wish to contact you is that I only told of one incident in that report (submitted to the BFRO) and just touched on the basic information of it to Mike. I did not mention other incidents that have occurred over the years. Maybe before you think I am a ding bat, as most people do for believing in Bigfoot in the first place, I should tell you about myself and some of the finer experiences I have had with this animal Bigfoot. We call him that now, but I called him a monster when I was younger.

My name is Janice Carter Coy. I am 37 years old as of the 18th of this month, white and of a middle class family. I do now own and run an antique business and consider myself quite logical in most matters. I don't spook easily and only know of two things I am really scared of: a person with a gun aimed in my direction and BIGFOOT. The last turns me to a downright chicken when I feel that feeling come over me. You know what I am talking about if you are for real. If not you are just going to laugh with the rest of them and make me into a big joke anyway. I can take the fun making, but am dead level serious about Bigfoot. I do not care who thinks what about me as long as I can help in the discovery of one of these animals for science and the world to know about. Then let us see who has the last laugh.

When I was 7 and a half in the month of late June or early July, I ran head on into a male (did not realize it was male until I was older) Bigfoot. My Grandfather (Papaw) and I were out blackberry picking and he had sent me back to the house from the backside of the property to get a water jug filled. On returning I could see my Papaw through some trees and underbrush ahead of me. All of a sudden I ran into this Bigfoot's knee area. Smack! It backed up a few steps and turned toward me. I was frozen stiff. (I) Could not scream or make myself move at first: I did pee and poop my pants. Scared the holy fool out of me. I must have made some type of sound at some point because Papaw came to me. Papaw got in front of me and just stared at it at first then started talking to it like he did to the young spooked horses he owned and trained at the time. It did move off after a time and looked back at us the whole time until it disappeared from site behind some trees.

Our land was heavily forested at that time and grown up in underbrush and briers and the like then. Papaw later had it cleared to pasture. It is growing up bad once again for the most part now. My Uncle still lives there and he won't even stay there by himself at night unless he has to. He calls it (Bigfoot) a werewolf. Claims he seen it this year in late August (2001) in the front yard when he went out to feed the dogs one night. He came to my house for two weeks after this to stay with us (I'm married with six children between us) at night because it scared him. (He) Made one of us go down to the old home with him so he could feed the dogs during the daytime.

Something got two of the dogs in a weeks time in October and another my cousin had given my Uncle in November. No trace of the dogs has been found. Anyway Bigfoot may or may not still be around the old home place. I do not like going there to try and find out. I will say this: I do not want to help you capture one of these things at no amount of cost. You could not pay me enough. You or someone else are welcome to this task. I do want to see one up close behind some type of enforcement it can't get to me from, when one is caught. I do want to know what species it is for sure. Human, Ape, or Beast, or Prehistoric Man, or what? I cannot tell you for sure. It is an animal of some sort I know. I just don't know what.

My Papaw made a friend of it or a type of pet I guess I should say. At 8 (a year later after I ran into it) he took me to the top of the hill after milking the cows at close to dusk and it was there. (He took this plate of table scrapes to it nightly for a while. We just thought then that he was feeding the barn cats at the time.) Papaw told me not to be scared and not to scream. It stood up out from under the old oak tree (it is still there today) and Papaw talked to it and it did grunt and make weird noises like a squirrel or close to their sounds back at him. Papaw sat the plate on the ground and backed up and it came and ate the scraps. Then it backed up and Papaw got the plate back. It seemed friendly enough, but Papaw told me not to try and get too close and not to touch it. Now Lady I am not making this up and I have read that tale by that woman on your site. I will swear this is the God’s honest truth and take a lie detector test to prove it.

I did undergo hypnotizing once to see if I was dreaming this one up myself at 21 years of age. The therapist did not know what to think or make of it. He thought it may have been a bear or a pet chimp Papaw had on the place that I only thought was a monster. The truth is either my Papaw was nuts or the bravest man I have ever known or he just had a soft spot for critters. I do not know which, but he did tame this thing down. It had been raiding the potato and corn bins (in the barn). It also stripped our fruit trees at the time. We had apples, plums, and cherry (trees) at the time. It also liked muskidines (muscadines) and berries and persimmons too. We had all. It did not like the chestnut trees. Papaw would get them (the nuts) for it and it would eat them, but it would not go under the trees. I can't say I blame it as you get the needles in your bare foot and they are a royal pain to pick out. I know this from experience.

Papaw said he called it his fox and I should do this too. Not to tell the rest of the family it was there because it would scare them. (I thought there was nothing like my Grandfather on this earth. I thought he walked on water and to this day he is still my hero. He is gone on to a better place now. But, he is still tops in my book). So I kept my mouth shut for a while. Then my little sister had it get after her one time when she was at the carport. She got under the car at the time until one of the men came out and it left. After that we talked about it some to the rest of our family. My Mom and a few of our cousins thought we were making up some tall tale. Grandma and Uncle knew better. Mom even saw it twice with me over the years and still she called it a hairy man. It left a big dent in the top right side of her trailer one night in later years. I think it came to the house looking for Papaw and then up to the trailer where he and Grandma and Uncle and my sister stayed with Mom after Papaw got sick with the cancer that finally killed him in 1996. This had to have been in 1994 as he did all the chores up until then. He had an operation in August of that year and another the next August.

I think Bigfoot was looking for Papaw to feed it as this was winter and cold and it may have even missed him. It did come to the house on several other occasions before this incident. Bigfoot at one time slept under Mom's trailer. We had to keep putting up the underpinning and taping up one of the heating vent ducts every day for the winter of 1995. Once it was still there when I went under to place the vent back up. I got Papaw to come out and get it out from under the trailer that day. I am sorry, but I just don't trust it to not kill me or someone else if you were to make it mad. I owned a pet shop in New York once and had a spider monkey in it for sale. It would try to tear you up if you smiled at it. It was very strong for its size and I can just imaging the damage a Bigfoot could do if it was riled up. I know this letter is getting very long, but I have so much information on the subject of Bigfoot. I do want you to contact me and please don't put this off as so much bullsh*t. It is the truth and I want some help and someone besides my husband to talk to and discuss this issue with. I think unless you see one of these things you tend to live in a fantasy world where they don't exist.

I've done my mile to meet you in the middle will you meet me here?
Thank you, Janice Carter Coy

The Little People of Cherokee

It is not easy to see the Little People in broad daylight. They often hide from mortal eyes by appearing in the sun's brightness, but the Little People can see through the brightness. They cannot be seen at night unless there is a bright moon. Their light has been seen in the forest at night, however, close to the ground, moving through the trees, just off the trails. One can only catch up with their lights if the Little People want them to They are most often seen at dusk and dawn. They like to be with the animals when they feed, gathering the plants with the deer, fishing with the bears, picking up their firewood with the beaver, or visiting the native people, escorted by the fox. They have co-existed with the Cherokee people for countless centuries and look like full bloods, dark skinned, black eyes, and with straight black hair that reaches to the ground. They are handsome and strong and no more than three feet tall. They have always dressed as the native Cherokee people dress at any given time of their history ,They speak in an ancient Cherokee dialect. Some of the elders today can understand this strange dialect and know what they are saying. Some say it is Elati, a Cherokee language now extinct. They have their own communities or clans throughout the mountains. Like the Cherokees, each community has its own jokers, and serious people, leaders and followers, trouble makers and thinkers, dreamers, doctors, hunters and gatherers with the exception of the Dogwood Clan.
